Your Mind
Do you know that the effect you experience when taking medication – modern Western ones – may be, on average, more related to your mind than to the actual pharmacological product (*)? Please don’t cast your pills away but imagine you can reach this power without taking any medications. You can then decide with your physician whether you still need the drugs. Or you can jointly decide to reduce them in a gentle slope. That would be good for you and for society!
Few medications cure diseases. Mostly, they only diminish symptoms. The mind too is powerful enough to diminish many of the same symptoms.
Do you know there are still many huge gaps in scientific causal knowledge of diseases (**)? We should not pretend to know whether these gaps will be filled in rather by the body or the mind. However, since the start of modern Western medicine in the first half of the 19th century, the mind has been pretty much neglected in the search of causality. The focus has been too much on the ‘mindless body’ ― as if this were possible.
Looking for causes of symptoms frequently stops with one cause. In many cases, there is a whirlpool of causes in which the mind plays a significant role ― determining whether one gets in or out of the whirlpool. Your mind deserves to be recognized at its proper place.
We know for certain now through lots of science that mind and body are not two separate parts of one whole. They are eventually two ways of looking at the same entity: you. This means that changing your mind IS changing your body, even though it doesn’t feel that way (***). It also means that we can learn about the mind by learning about the brain. There are many implications – from individual to planetary – which AureLisa aims to take into account.
Using your mind for its true worth is immensely empowering. The AureLisa goal is to understand and realize this as much as possible, not apart from science but driving it forward.
